EU Funding Programmes (2007-2013)

This presentation reflects the second session in a series of workshops for local authorities on 'EU Community Programmes and Transnational Projects' delivered by the Irish Regions Office, Brussels in Dublin, Clonmel, Athlone and Ennis during October 2009.

It outlines the key aspects of the range of direct funding programmes from the EU (mainly 'Community Action Funds') which may be of potential interest to local and regional authorities as well as instancing some examples of their recent and ongoing involvement in projects in each field.

Additionally, beyond funding, details are carried on a series of current European initiatives of relevance to these levels of governance (economic development  schemes, loan facilities, award designations, consultation on emerging legislation etc.).
