Interreg IVB NWE - regional sustainable energy policy platform
The proposed project aims to demonstrate the benefits of trans-regional cooperation by bringing together regions in a regional sustainable energy policy platform, exploring the extent to which European priorities are reflected in policy and how regions are responding to their challenges in the region and sub-region through policy delivery. The West Midlands region in the UK is represented by the Marches Energy Agency based in Shrewsbury. The Marches Energy Agency (MEA) (www.mea.org.uk) is one of the UK's leading sustainable energy and climate change social enterprises and a registered charity. Created in 1995 MEA aims to "create the climate for change" and has a wealth of experience in delivering local, regional, and European projects. Partners needed: The Agency is looking to partner other European regions who have developed or are developing a regional energy policy or programme, including development agencies, local government authorities, climate change agencies, etc. There is particular interest in achieving a broad mix in policy approach, challenges and therefore in context, and of involving regional consortia involving sub-partners from a range of sectors. It is planned to hold the first partner meeting in Brussels in mid September the latest. The project submission deadline is 3 October.
