Cedefop, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training, has published a call for proposals in order to select and conclude a four year framework partnership agreement with one successful applicant (one organisation or one consortium) in each member state to set-up and lead a representative national consortium of key organisations in the field of vocational education and training.

Successful applicants will be expected to support the work of Cedefop and carry out, with the consortia partners, activities agreed each year in an annual action plan. The estimated budget available for the four year duration of the framework partnership agreements amounts to EUR 4.0 million, with a maximum grant for Ireland for 2008 of EUR 32,590. The European Commission has published a call for proposals for pilot projects concerning cooperation between European Institutes of Technology (institutes promoting collaboration between education, research, and innovation).

The call aims to address the demand to increase Europe's technology transfer capacity by means of closer integration of the knowledge triangle (education, research, innovation). This is to be achieved by supporting the establishment of pilot networks that will design, implement and test new models of integrated partnerships between the actors involved in technological innovation and transfer (such as universities, research organisations, small, medium-sized and large companies, innovation centres, etc.). Applications must include a partnership of at least six independent legal entities from different Member State. The total budget amounts to EUR5 million, with co-financing of up to 75 percent. The maximum grant will be EUR 1.5 million, with probably three to five partnerships being financed. The deadline for application is 15 August 2007.
